Have your next party at a unique art venue in the heart of downtown Washington, DC: Civilian Art Projects is now available for parties, receptions, meetings, and other special events for groups of up to 150 people. Please inquire early about available dates.

Located in the heart of DC's Penn Quarter, Civilian Art Projects' Seventh Street space is within walking distance of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, several theatres, and Metro. The forty-foot wide, high-ceilinged, contemporary gallery is a flexible, spacious and beautiful space that has the ability to adapt to each event. This classic space provides a unique setting for functions and events of all kinds.

POLICY


RENTAL FEE: The total amount of the rental fee must be paid 1 week in advance of the event, under penalty of cancellation.

SECURITY DEPOSIT: In addition to the rental fee, a security deposit of $400 must be remitted with the signed contract. This deposit is completely refundable if no damages occur and would applied to any damages to artwork or to the space, should damages occur, or any costs involved in abnormal clean up of space or return of equipment be incurred. If damage exceeds the amount of the deposit, the lessee agrees to pay the additional amount.

STAFF: The rental party must provide a representative to facilitate the needs of the event. The gallery will also provide a staff member to answer questions during setup and who will be present for the event.

BEVERAGES: No beer kegs or dark colored beverages, such as red wine or dark sodas, are permitted in the gallery.

SMOKING: Smoking is not permitted in the gallery.

CLEAN UP: The lessee is responsible for all clean up and for restoring the gallery space to its original condition.

CATERING: All food, beverage, and equipment for events shall be organized by the renting party. Please contact us for a list of preferred vendors. All food waste must be removed from the building.
